CLEMSON, S.C. -- Clemson topped Furman, 5-2, Monday at the Duckworth Family Tennis Center in Clemson, S.C.

The Tigers won two of three doubles matches to claim the doubles point.  Teodor Giusca and Yizhou Liu defeated senior Ivan Mitric and freshman Ben Cahill, 6-1, at flight two, and Carlos Kelaidis and Jorge Plans Gonzalez recorded a 6-2 victory over senior Drew Singerman and freshman Emil Westling at number three.  The top flighted match was unfinished, with Ryuhei Azuma and Spencer Whitaker leading seniors Henrik Atlevi and Jake Bhangdia, 5-2.

The Paladins scored at the top two singles flights.  Mitric downed Liu, 6-3, 6-4, at number one, and Bhangdia came from behind to beat Kelaidis, 1-6, 7-5, 1-0(4), at flight two.

Clemson (7-9, 16 ACC) won in the lower four singles matches.  Azuma outlasted Atlevi, 5-7, 7-5, 1-0(4), at number three, and Gonzalez blanked Westling, 6-0 6-0 at number four.  At flight five, Whitaker topped Singerman, 6-3, 6-1, and Andrew Puscas entered the lineup at flight six, where he defeated Cahill, 6-3, 6-2.

Furman (5-9, 2-0 SoCon) will square of against ETSU in Johnson City Friday at 2 p.m.
