GREENVILLE, S.C. -- No. 34 Furman blanked Davidson, 7-0, Saturday at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.  With the victory, the Paladins have won 14 out of their last 16 matches and hold Power 5 victories over Alabama, 16th-ranked Wake Forest, No. 18 South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Clemson.  Furman is also 4-0 versus teams in South Carolina, having defeated USC, Clemson, Presbyterian, and Wofford.

Furman sailed past Davidson in all three doubles matches to take the first point.  Junior Julia Adams and senior Katarina Kozarov, who rank 16th nationally, downed Alyssa Hahn and Elizabeth Truluck, 6-1, at flight one, and junior Madison Dillon and senior MaryAnn Rompf blanked Josie Schaffer and Charlotte James, 6-0, at number two.  At flight three, freshman Ellie Schoppe and sophomore Maggie Pate recorded a 6-0 win over Mira Gladstone and Franny Shea.

The Paladins swept the singles matches, winning five of the six in straight sets.  Adams, who ranks 77th nationally, topped Schaffer, 6-1, 6-2, in the top-seeded contest, and Dillon held off Truluck, 6-2, 5-7, 1-0(1), at flight two.  Rompf bested Gladstone, 6-2, 6-0, at number three, and Pate defeated Ava Ignatowich, who entered the lineup at flight four, 6-2, 6-1.  At flight five, Schoppe beat Shea, 6-2, 6-0, and freshman Ilayda Baykan joined the Paladin lineup at flight six, where she posted a 6-1, 6-4 advantage over James.

Davidson falls to 5-8, 1-1 in the Atlantic 10 with the loss.

Furman (15-6, 3-0 SoCon) will travel to Chattanooga for a key SoCon match up on Thursday.  First serve is set for 2 p.m.
