Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's lacrosse team plays its final two games of the regular season on Saturday and Sunday when it hits the road of a pair of games against the Delaware State Hornets and 10
th-ranked Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds.
Furman closes out its SoCon schedule on Saturday morning with a 10 a.m. opening draw against Delaware State before traveling to Loyola (Md.) on Sunday afternoon for its regular season finale at 12 p.m.

The Paladins (10-3, 3-0 SoCon) are currently on a program-best seven-game winning streak, surpassing the previous mark of six in 2017, following a 21-13 victory at Wofford on Wednesday afternoon. The 21 goals tied for the second-most in a game in program history, equaling the amount compiled on March 23, 2017 in a 21-5 road win at Gardner-Webb.
Hannah Demis led Furman offensively with six points on a game-high five assists and one goal.
Kyra LaMotte and
Meagan Beal scored a game-high four goals, and
Sophie Shaw (career-high) and
Sydney McClure contributed three each.
Hannah Dintino and
Avery McIlwaine recorded two goals, while
Sydney Catts and
Lindsey Kelly provided one apiece. Dintino, McIlwaine, Beal, Catts and Kelly all dished out one assist. Beal finished with a career-high six ground balls and McIlwaine won five draws.
Rachel Sindler tied her career-high of three caused turnovers. In goal,
Meghan Deehan earned the win after making eight saves and grabbed two ground balls.
Demis became the program's single-season assist leader in the victory, currently sitting at 41 on the year. She broke her own school record of 37 set back during the 2019 season.
Demis paces the Paladins on offense this season with 61 points on 20 goals and a team-best 41 assists. LaMotte leads the team with 45 goals, while Beal adds 35, Dintino 29 and McClure 20. McIlwaine has won 39 draws and Sindler contributes 15 caused turnovers. In goal, Deehan provides 93 saves and a team-high 26 ground balls.
Delaware State currently sits at 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the SoCon following a 20-7 loss to Wofford on April 12. Gwenna Gentle leads the Hornets offensively with 19 points on 15 goals, and is tied for the team lead of four assists with Rossella Nardi. Gentle also leads the team with 19 ground balls. Tamrin Swann provides 26 draws and Dachelle Johnson eight caused turnovers. In goal, Moe Brown has 89 saves. Delaware State is under the direction of second-year head coach Pamella Jenkins.
Loyola (Md.) is ranked 10
th in the latest IWLCA Coaches' Poll and 12
th in the ILWomen media poll with an 8-2 record after defeating Bucknell 20-3 on April 16. Livy Rosenzweig leads the Greyhounds with 56 points on 23 goals and a team-best 33 assists, and 55 draws. Sam Fieldler boasts a team-high 32 goals. Elli Kluegel adds 20 ground balls and is first on the team with 11 caused turnovers along with Fiedler. In goal, Kaitlyn Larsson has 76 saves and a .507 save percentage. Loyola (Md.) is led by 13
th-year head coach Jen Adams.
Furman is facing the Hornets for the fourth time and leads the all-time series 3-0. The Paladins and Greyhounds are meeting for the first time in program history.
The 2021 SoCon Women's Lacrosse Championship will be held May 6-8 in Macon, Ga.
