Harper Finishes Tied for 14th at NCAA Tallahassee Regional

Senior Cards Final Round 3-Under Par 69

Tallahassee, Fla. – Furman senior Keller Harper fired a final round 3-under par 69 on Wednesday to finish in a tie for 14th place at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional from the par 72, 7,505-yard Seminole Legacy Club.

The three-time SoCon Player of the Year, and All-SoCon selection, began the day by shooting 1-under par 35 on the front-nine highlighted by birdies on No. 4 and No. 6, both par 5 holes. On the back-nine, Harper went bogey-free while tallying seven pars and two birdies to compile a 2-under 34. The back-nine birdies came on the par 4 10th and par 5 14th holes. His final round 69 put him in a tie for 14th place on the individual leaderboard at 4-under 212 (69-74-69).

The Atlanta, Ga., native concluded the regional at 7-under with a 4.42 stroke average in par 5 scoring and even-par, 3.00 stroke average in par 3 scoring. Harper also registered a 4.10 stroke average in par 4 scoring.

Harper was part of a field of 14 teams and five additional individuals who battled for a berth in the NCAA Men's Golf Championship, which is being held May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams advanced after Wednesday's final round.

No. 2 Florida State, the regional host, captured the team championship by 17 strokes over No. 11 Georgia at 34-under 830.

Georgia's Davis Thompson, the eighth-ranked player in the country, won the individual championship by one stroke over Michael Sakane of Jacksonville at 14-under par 202.

Harper finishes the 2020-21 season with a 70.7 stroke average, which ranks second-best for a season in program history behind Furman Hall of Famer Brad Faxon's 70.58 in 1982-83. He now owns three of the top-5 season stroke averages in school history. His 72.0 career stroke average is second-best all-time for the Paladins behind only Faxon, who compiled a 71.78 from 1980-83.

He wraps up his Furman career as one of only three players in program history, along with Faxon and Kirk Satterfield, to compete as an individual in multiple NCAA Regionals. Harper recorded four career victories which are tied for second-most in program history with Ken Ezell (1974-77) and Todd White (1987-90).
