Furman Men's Golf Adds Transfers Chiles & Loomis For 2026-27 Season

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman head men's golf coach Matt Davidson announced today that transfers Turner Chiles and Ben Loomis will join the Paladin team during the 2026-27 season.
Chiles, a native of Houston, Texas, spent the last two seasons at Sewanee, while Loomis, who hails from New Canaan, Conn., recently graduated from Vanderbilt after competing for the Commodores the past three seasons.
"We are thrilled to add both Turner and Ben to our roster," said Davidson.  "Turner will be with us for his final two years, and he has shown an ability to play consistently great golf and take it deep when he has it rolling.  Being honored as the Division 3 national freshman of the year, and then following that up with a phenomenal sophomore season at Sewanee, makes us very confident in his ability to make an immediate impact and have a lot of upside as he makes the move to Division 1.
"We are also so excited to have Ben play with us for his post grad year next year.  He is such a talented player physically -- he is extremely long and has all of the tools to have a ton of success next year. Coming from one of the best programs in the country in Vanderbilt and playing a big time summer schedule, I know Ben will be prepared and ready to make a mark day one.
"To pair them both up with two talented and very competitively experienced freshmen in Tucker Gutierrez and Ewen Farquhar will make four huge additions to the roster for the '26-'27 season.  We can't wait to get all ten of our guys back in August and get to work!"
