EUGENE, Oregon -- Five former Furman track standouts will compete in four events at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which will be held June 18-27 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
On Friday, Allie Buchalski will compete in the first round of the women's 5,000m at 8:54 p.m. ET, followed by Frank Lara in the men's 10,000m final at 10:25 p.m. A seven-time All-American, Buchalski finished as runner-up in the 5,000m at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships, while Lara, a three-time All-American in the 10,000m placed 17th in the event at the 2019 national meet.
Sunday's action features Gabbi Jennings in round one of the 3,000m Steeplechase at 9:35 p.m. A three-time All-American in the event, Jennings placed seventh at last week's NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Ryan Adams and Tripp Hurt will run in round one of the men's 1,500m on Thursday, June 24, at 9:04 p.m. Adams, a three-time All-American in the 1,500m, placed 20th in the event at last week's national championships, while Hurt earned an All-American citation in the Steeplechase during his Furman career.
The top three finishers in each event who have achieved the Olympic standard for their event will qualify for the Olympics in Tokyo. The rescheduled Tokyo Olympics are scheduled for July 23-August 8.
