Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's golf team and head coach
Matt Davidson announced today its schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
The Paladins have scheduled a total of 11 tournaments for 2021-22 with five slated for the fall and six in the spring.
"We truly can't wait to get started in a few weeks," said Davidson. "The schedule we put together for this season is extremely competitive and has so many great courses. It will be a challenge, but we're looking forward to the opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in the country and play in events with a lot of history."
Furman will play three tournaments during the month of September beginning Sept. 12-13 at the Gopher Invitational in Independence, Minn. The Paladins are also scheduled to compete at the Battle at Briars Creek, Sept. 20-21, in Johns Island, S.C. and the J.T. Poston Invitational, Sept. 27-28, in Sapphire, N.C. The team concludes the fall schedule with two tournaments slated for October. Furman travels to Jonesborough, Tenn., Oct. 10-12, for the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate and Raleigh, N.C., Oct. 16-17, for the Wolfpack Intercollegiate.
The 2022 spring season will begin at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate, Feb. 21-22, in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
The Paladins then travel to the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, which will be held Mar. 7-8 in Aiken, S.C., before joining the field at the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Ga., Mar. 18-20. Also in March, Furman will head to the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate, slated for Mar. 27-29 in Awendaw, S.C.
The Paladins begin the month of April in Augusta, Ga. for the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, Apr. 2-3.
For the second consecutive year, Furman will compete for the Southern Conference Championship Apr. 22-24 at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga.
The NCAA Men's Golf Regional is slated for May 15-18 at one of six campus sites.
