Charleston, S.C. – Kane Ritchie scored two goals to lead the College of Charleston Cougars to a 2-1 overtime victory over the Furman men's soccer team, Wednesday evening from Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point.
Furman drops to 2-6 on the season while College of Charleston improves to 3-4-2 overall.
Ritchie gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead in the 18
th minute of action, scoring off an assist from Rio Murray. College of Charleston would hold a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Ben Roberts recorded four saves in the second half while holding the Cougars without a goal facing eight shots.
Jake Raine collected his team-leading fourth goal of the season to tie the contest in the 72
nd minute.
Neither team would score during the remainder of regulation and headed into overtime even at 1-1.
Ritchie netted the golden goal for College of Charleston in the 96
th minute on Jake Nicholson's assist to secure the 2-1 victory.
Raine had a team-high four shots for Furman, and tallied one attempt on goal along with
Conor Dowler and
Alfredo Diaz-Santillan. Roberts finished with five saves.
Ritchie led all players with a game-high six shots for the Cougars and added four attempts on goal. Cameron Smith registered two saves in goal.
College of Charleston held a 16-14 advantage in shots and 7-3 in attempts on goal. The Cougars also led 5-4 in corner kicks.
The Paladins continue non-conference play on Tuesday, October 5 when they host Presbyterian at 7 p.m.
