MADISON, Wis. -- Junior Dylan Schubert finished 12th in the men's race, and junior Bethany Graham turned in a 30th-place finish on the women's side to lead the Furman cross country teams Friday at the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis.

The 24th-ranked Paladin women scored 556 points for 22nd place in the 36-team field, which included 24 ranked teams.  Furman beat out several Power 5 opponents, including Florida State, Indiana, Iowa State, Duke, and Minnesota.

Graham led Furman with a time of 20:20.8 on the 6K course, while senior Abigail Robertson was 91st at 20:50.5.  Junior Emily Little posted a time of 20:58.7 for 115th place, and junior Megan Marvin finished 141st with a time of 21:07.3.  Sophomore Sierra Bower was the final scorer for the Paladins, placing 185th at 21:27.8.  

Freshman Carly Wilkes placed 188th (21:29.7) followed by freshman Jenna Mulhern in 189th place (21:32.0).  Junior Madelynne Cadeau turned in a time of 21:51.0 for 215th place.

Schubert, who recorded a time of 23:25.9 on the 8K course, led the Paladin men to a 27th-place finish in the 33-team field, with featured 19 ranked schools.  Furman scored 683 points to defeat Power 5 teams Indiana, Florida State, and Minnesota, among others. 

Junior Carson Williams placed 135th with a time of 24:16.5, and senior David Ahlmeyer finished 161st at 24:28.6.  Senior Adam Beucler crossed the line in 24:44.6 for 187th place, and sophomore Foster Wilfong completed the Paladin scorers in 200th place with a time of 24:53.7. 

Sophomore Nick Goldstein, who finished the race in 25:35.1, placed 229th, and freshman Colton Kempney (26:34.5) was 237th.  Senior Mac Roberts placed 238th with a time of 27:11.6.

Select Furman runners will compete at the USC Upstate Invite Saturday at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
