Furman Falls At Home To Samford, 4-0

Paladins Host Chattanooga In Sunday's Regular Season Finale At 2 P.M.

Greenville, S.C. – Samford netted three goals in the opening 37 minutes en route to a 4-0 victory over the Furman Paladins in Southern Conference women's soccer action Friday evening on Seagraves Field at Stone Stadium.
 
Taylor Yount opened the scoring for the Bulldogs at the 9:46 mark by volleying a Layton Glisson cross into the right side of net. Less than seven minutes later, Glisson settled a pass in the middle of the box from Whitaker Buchanan and lined a shot off the left post to double the Samford lead in the 17th minute. The score marked the fourth of the season for Glisson.
 
Maison Wells upped the margin to 3-0 at 36:35. She received a pass from Kylie Gazza on the right wing and lofted a shot into the far side netting for her second goal of the campaign.
 
Sarah Holland scored Samford's fourth goal of the night and her first of the season at the 74:10 mark. Holland pounded on a rebound off a saved shot and deposited her follow-up effort into the left side for the final 4-0 score line.
 
Emma Donley made one save to earn the shutout for the Bulldogs. Senior Nora Sampson took the loss for Furman, while Addison Corn recorded a save in 45 minutes of action in goal.
 
The Bulldogs compiled a 17-2 lead in total shots and 5-1 margin in shots on goal.
 
Furman (8-8-1, 3-4-1 SoCon) concludes the regular season on Sunday afternoon when it hosts first-place Chattanooga (7-4-4, 5-1-2 SoCon) at Stone Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+. Tickets are available online at FurmanPaladins.com.  
 
Samford (8-3-6, 4-1-3 SoCon) caps its regular season on Sunday at Wofford.
 
Seeds and pairings for the 2022 SoCon Women's Soccer Championship will be released by the league office on Sunday evening following the completion of all regular season matches.
