Johnson City, Tenn. – Tarik Pannholzer broke a scoreless tie a with an 82^nd minute goal to lift ETSU to a 1-0 victory over Furman in Southern Conference men's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Summers-Taylor Stadium in Johnson City, Tenn.
 
With the victory, ETSU improved to 7-4-3 overall and 3-0-1 in SoCon play to maintain at least a share of the league lead entering the final weekend of the regular season. Furman dropped to 5-6-4 overall and 0-3-1 in the SoCon.
 
ETSU grabbed the lead at the 81:52 mark on Pannholzer's fourth goal of the season. The forward found space in the box and deposited his shot past Paladin goalkeeper Ben Roberts.
 
The Buccaneers dominated the chances with a 15-6 advantage in total shot attempts, including an 8-1 edge in shots on goal. Senior Dylan Lane registered the Paladins only shot on goal in the 73^rd minute.
 
Cole Hunter notched one save to earn the victory and clean sheet for ETSU. Roberts saved seven shots in a losing effort for Furman.
 
The Paladins close out the regular season versus VMI next Saturday night at Stone Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and Furman will honor its seniors prior to the match.
