Furman Cross Country/Track & Field Announces Signee Brayden Seymour

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman head cross country/track and field coach Robert Gary announced today that Brayden Seymour will join the Paladin team in 2023-24.

"We are very excited to have Brayden join the team," said Gary, who is in his 11th season at the helm of the Furman program.  "He is one of our fastest signees as a junior, and we can't wait to watch his senior season unfold."

Seymour, a native of Oviedo, Fla., won the 2022 FHSAA track state championship in the 1,600m and finished as runner up in the 3,200m.  He placed third at the 2021 FHSAA cross country state championship.  A member of the cross country and track teams at Newbury Park High, Seymour is a five-time qualifier for New Balance Nationals indoor and outdoor championship.

"I chose Furman because of the great coaching staff and the dedication that the athletes have to be the best," said Seymour.  "The culture surrounding not only the team, but the whole campus, is like one big family, and I can't wait to be a part of that success!"
