Greenville, S.C. – The Furman softball team will travel to Atlanta, Ga., on Tuesday, February 22, to play Georgia Tech in a 3 p.m. contest.

The Paladins enter Tuesday's game 3-6 after finishing 1-4 in the Furman Classic last weekend at Pepsi Stadium. Furman fell 10-6 to South Dakota and 12-5 to Saint Francis on Friday. The Paladins then split Saturday's games, winning 7-5 against Saint Francis and losing 4-3 to Georgetown before dropping a 3-2 extra-inning decision to Georgetown on Sunday.
Ashlee Lykins leads the Paladins with a .364 batting average, including a team-high 12 hits. Emily Bartlett boasts a .667 slugging percentage with one home run and four doubles, while Riley Ludlam and Natalie Morgan each have one home run.
Furman returns home on Friday to host George Mason, Iona, and Presbyterian in the GVL Showdown at Pepsi Stadium.
Wednesday marks the 44th meeting between Furman and Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech holds a 25-18 lead in the all-time series. The teams last met in 2019 when the Yellow Jackets defeated the Paladins, 14-2, in Atlanta.
Georgia Tech enters the matchup at 8-2 overall after going 3-2 in the Bulldog Kickoff Classic in Starkville, Miss., with a two-game sweep of Southern Illinois and a split with Mississippi State.
