Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team will travel to The Citadel for its regular season finale on Saturday at McAlister Field House in Charleston, S.C. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. in the Ingles SoCon Game of the Week.

Despite losing to Samford, 75-83, on Wednesday night in Birmingham, Ala., the Paladins are currently ranked second in the Southern Conference with an 11-6 league mark. Furman is 19-11 overall and has locked in a top-three seed for the league championship for the seventh season in a row.
With a win on Saturday against The Citadel or a Samford loss, Furman would lock in the number two seed going into the Ingles SoCon Basketball Championship. With a loss and a Samford win on Saturday, Furman would drop to the third seed.
Saturday's contest marks the 217th meeting between Furman and The Citadel with the Paladins holding a 129-87 series lead. The Paladins have won six straight meetings between the schools and 20 of the last 25 encounters, including a 102-83 victory in the first meeting of the season on February 2 at Timmons Arena.
Jalen Slawson had 17 points against the Bulldogs while Alex Hunter contributed 16, Marcus Foster added 13, and Mike Bothwell scored 12. The Paladins also scored 37 points off the bench with Joe Anderson racking up 14 points and JP Pegues collecting 12.
The Bulldogs enter Saturday's game at 12-16 overall and 7-7 in the SoCon. The Citadel is coming off a 71-67 win at Mercer and will enter postseason play as the eighth or ninth seed.
The Ingles SoCon Basketball Championship will start Friday, March 4, at Harrah's Cherokee Center Asheville with the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds facing off at 5 p.m.
