GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Furman men's tennis team remains unbeaten in Southern Conference play after notching a 5-2 victory over UNC Greensboro Sunday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Stadium in Greensboro, N.C.

The Paladins scored the first point after winning doubles matches at flights two and three.  Senior James Roelofse and sophomore Emil Westling held off Hugh Knapp and Cooper Wyett, 6-4, at flight two, and sophomore Ben Cahill and graduate student Drew Singerman blew past Hampus Johansson and Christopher Johns, 6-1, at number three.  The Spartans took the win at flight one, where Nico Grewe and Roger Rogowski defeated graduate student Ivan Mitric and freshman Jamie Connel, who rank 52nd nationally, 6-3. 

Furman scored four singles points for the victory.  Connell outlasted Alex Zuckerman, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, at flight two, and freshman Elijah Poritzky topped Knapp, 6-3, 6-1, at number three.  At flight five, Westling recorded a 6-3, 6-2 advantage over Johns, and Singerman downed David Flisberg, 6-4, 7-5, at number six.

UNCG scored at flights one and four singles.  Grewe posted a close 3-6, 7-6(5), 7-5 margin versus Mitric at number one, and Rogowski eked past Roelofse, 7-5, 5-7, 1-0(7) at number four.

Furman (12-7, 4-0 SoCon) will entertain ETSU Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Mickel Tennis Center in a battle between the league's two undefeated teams.
