Houston, Texas – Christian Kraus scored in the 88
th minute to earn Furman a 1-1 draw versus Houston Baptist in the men's soccer season opener for both schools Thursday evening in the HBU Invitational at AVEVA Stadium in Houston, Texas.
With both squads down to 10 men following a pair of second half red cards, the Huskies grabbed the 1-0 lead at the 84:32 mark when Bryant Farkarlun buried a shot in the upper left-hand corner off an assist from D'Alessandro Herra.
Furman answered with the equalizer, the Paladins' first goal of the 2022 season, with just 2:21 remaining in the match as Kraus tucked his shot into the lower left-hand corner at the 87:39 mark.
