GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman's Anna Morgan has been selected as the Southern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for all competition from Oct. 25-31. The selection is made by the league office.
A senior from Spartanburg, S.C., Morgan, who also won the honor on Sept. 27, won the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C., which wrapped play on Sunday. She posted rounds of 67-66-69 for a tournament score of 202, finishing at 14-under par. Morgan led the field in birdies (17), eagles (2), par-3 scoring (2.67), and par-5 scoring (4.17). The victory set a new school record for individual career wins with six, breaking a tie with four other Paladins.
Furman finished ninth in the 18-team, 96-golfer field, with a 1-over-par 865 performance. The Paladins shot 297 in the first round, 285 in the second round, and 283 in the final round.
The Paladins will open the 2024 spring season on Feb. 4-6 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
