NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. --
Jada Session scored 13 of her team high 19 points in a decisive third quarter to help power Furman past Charleston Southern, 71-68, in women's basketball action Tuesday evening at Buccaneer Fieldhouse.

Session, a junior forward, added eight rebounds, a pair of assists, and two steals to her performance that saw the Paladins rally from 34-26 halftime deficit by outscoring the Buccaneers 30-13 in the third period to take a 54-47 lead.
Sydney James contributed eight of her 14 points in the third quarter, including a pair of 3-pointers. Her first trey of the period tied the game at 38-38 at the 6:30 mark, and Session followed with a pair of throws for a 40-38 lead, completing a 14-4 run by the Paladins.
After Charleston Southern knotted it at 40-40, the Paladins answered by outscoring the Buccaneers 14-7 over the final 4:16 for the 54-47 advantage.

Kate Johnson layup with 3:00 left in the game put Furman up 70-64, but CSU took advantage of a pair of Paladin turnovers down the stretch to cut the lead to two points, getting to within 70-68 on Kennedi Jackson layup with 18 seconds to go.
With seven seconds left the Buccaneers fouled James, sending her to the free throw line, where she made the first of two for a 71-68 lead. Â On the ensuing possession Alaina Nettles' game tying 3-point attempt from the right wing bounced long off the rim as time expired.
James headlined Furman's solid work from the perimeter, connecting on 3-of-4 3-pointers as the Paladin made 8-of-16 treys in the contest. Â The Paladin senior also chipped in a team high four assists.
Tate Walters rounded out Furman's double figure trio with 12 points in 29 minutes of play.
Kate Johnson contributed eight points and six rebounds, and
Sydney Ryan registered seven points, along with seven caroms as the Paladins worked a 37-37 draw on the glass.
Catherine Alben joined Jackson for game high scoring honors with 21 points apiece for Charleston Southern.
Furman returns home to face Coastal Carolina this Saturday at Timmons Arena. Â Tipoff is 2:00 p.m.
