GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman will travel to California this week for two matches over the team's spring break. The Paladins will square off against Cal State Fullerton in Fullerton, Calif., on Monday at 5 p.m. ET then play at San Diego State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET.
The Paladins are 4-9 overall and 2-0 in Southern Conference play after competing at the Blue Gray Tournament in Montgomery, Ala., Feb. 24-25. Earlier in December, Furman put together a three-match winning streak with victories over Florida Atlantic (4-2), Yale (5-2), and Western Carolina (5-2).
Cal State Fullerton is 6-2 after sneaking past UC Irvine, 4-3, on Friday. Monday's match marks the fourth meeting between the two teams. Furman holds a 2-1 series advantage after defeating the Titans, 6-1, in Fullerton when the teams last met in 2014.
San Diego State lost to No. 37 San Diego, 6-1, Saturday to move to 4-4 overall. The Aztecs defeated the Paladins, 4-1, in San Diego in 2018 in the only other meeting between the two teams.
