Furman Adds Transfer Grace Thomas

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman head women's tennis coach Michelle Dasso announced today that transfer Grace Thomas has joined the Paladin program.

"I am thrilled Grace is joining the Furman family," said Dasso.  "Her experience being part of an elite program that was able to capture a national team championship in her freshman year and the intense training and dedication that takes will be very valuable.  She is an incredible student and was allured to Furman because of its strong academics and her desire to become a consistent contributor."

A native of Brisbane, Australia, Thomas competed at Texas the past two years.  During her time on the team, the Longhorns won the 2022 national team championship and claimed Big 12 championships during both her freshman and sophomore seasons.  Thomas compiled a 6-3 singles record in 2022-23 with key victories over Stanford, Texas Tech, Tennessee, and Miami, and scored Power 5 doubles wins versus Texas Tech, Miami, N.C. State, and Vanderbilt.  An ITA Scholar-Athlete, Thomas was a member of the 2021-22 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team and earned the University of Texas College of Natural Sciences Excellence Award.

Thomas joins incoming freshmen Macy Hitchcock and Maeve Thornton who signed with the Paladins in the fall.
