GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman head men's golf coach Matt Davidson announced today the team's schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
The Paladin schedule includes ten tournaments, with four slated for the fall and six in the spring.
"We are really excited about how the 2023-24 schedule came together," said Davidson. "The Gopher Invitational is always the ideal spot to get the fall started. We have a couple of new additions this year as well -- one is an event at Chicago Highlands hosted by Wake Forest in September, and the other being University of Florida's event to start the spring season. The Furman Intercollegiate being at the end of the fall season is always one we have circled on the calendar. From start to finish, it's a very competitive consistent schedule with a lot of great venues and deep fields. We can't wait to get started!"
For the third season in a row, Furman will open the fall season at the Gopher Invitational in Independence, Minn., which is slated for Sept. 10-11. Later in September, the Paladins will travel to the Highlands Invitational, which will be hosted by Wake Forest in Chicago, Ill., from Sept. 18-19.
In October, Furman will return to ETSU's Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in Johnson City, Tenn., Oct. 8-10. The Paladins conclude the fall season Oct. 22-23 at the 53rd Furman Intercollegiate, which moved to the fall in 2022 after previously being contested in the spring.
The 2023 spring season begins at Florida's VyStar Credit Union Gators Invitational, Feb. 17-18, in Gainesville, Fla. With three tournaments scheduled, March will prove to be a busy month for the Paladins, first at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C., March 5-6, then at the General Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina at Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, March 18-20. Furman concludes the month with a return trip to the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate, slated for Mar. 24-26 in Awendaw, S.C.
For the second-straight year, the Paladins begin the month of April in Franklin, Tenn., for Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph Championship, April 5-7. From April 21-23, the Southern Conference Championship will be held at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Ga.
The NCAA regional championships are slated for May 13-15 at six campus sites, and the NCAA Championship will be held May 24-29 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
