GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team will travel to Alabama to square off against the Crimson Tide Saturday at 11 a.m. ET at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

The Paladins' match at South Alabama, which was scheduled for Sunday at noon, has been cancelled due to impending inclement weather in the Mobile area.

Furman (0-1) dropped a 7-0 decision at No. 18 Tennessee to open the season on Sunday.

Saturday's match, the season opener for Alabama, marks the sixth meeting between the Paladins and the Crimson Tide.  Furman defeated then 16th-ranked Alabama, 4-3, in Tuscaloosa in 2022 in the last meeting between the two programs.  The Crimson Tide lead the all-time series, 3-2.

Furman claimed the 2023 Southern Conference regular season title after posting a perfect 7-0 regular season record under Paladin first-year head coach Michelle Dasso.  The title, which was the Paladins' seventh straight, marked Furman's 26th overall.  Ellie Schulson was named to the All-SoCon first team for singles, while Jess Dawson and Sara Snyder, who ranked as high as 51st nationally, were voted to the All-SoCon first team for doubles.
