Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team opens its Southern Conference home schedule and renews its rivalry versus instate foe The Citadel with a 7 p.m. tip-off on Wednesday at Timmons Arena.
Wednesday's game, sponsored by Harper General Contractors, will be streamed live on ESPN+ and fans can listen to the action on The Fan Upstate at 97.7 FM and 1330 AM in Greenville, on 97.1 FM and 1490 AM in Spartanburg, or via the Audacy app. Links for the video stream, audio feed, and live statistics are available at FurmanPaladins.com.

SoCon Super Weekend Pack. The package, available for just $60, includes a ticket to each of the Paladins' six Southern Conference weekend home games, beginning with a clash versus ETSU on January 13.
Wednesday night's game marks the 220
th meeting between Furman and The Citadel in a series that dates back to the 1919-20 campaign. Furman holds a 131-88 series lead and won nine consecutive meetings versus the Bulldogs before The Citadel edged the Paladins, 69-65, last February in Charleston, S.C. The Paladins have won 13 of the last 15 meetings against The Citadel, including eight consecutive wins over the Bulldogs inside Timmons Arena.
Furman enters the SoCon home opener at 6-9 overall and 0-2 in league play following a 73-58 setback at Chattanooga on Saturday night. The Mocs raced out to a 43-20 halftime lead and held the Paladins to a season-low 58 points to snap Furman's three-game series winning streak. A run a 13 straight missed three-pointers and a drought of over 13 minutes without a basket in the opening half contributed to the Paladins shooting just 27.5%.
Tyler Millin paced five Mocs in double figures with 16 points.
JP Pegues and
Alex Williams returned from injury to lead the Paladins with 16 and 15 points, respectively. Pegues added 11 rebounds to post his second double-double in his last four games.
The Citadel is 8-7 overall and 0-2 in the SoCon after dropping an 80-71 decision to Western Carolina and 80-64 verdict versus Samford to open league play. Sophomore AJ Smith leads head coach Ed Conroy's Bulldogs averaging 16.1 points per game.
Following Wednesday's game, Furman welcomes East Tennessee State to Timmons Arena on Saturday at 2 p.m. as a part of Legends Weekend.
