WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Sophomore Audrey Ryu (E) shot even par for the second-consecutive day and leads the Furman women's golf team at the end of Saturday's second round of the 22nd Annual Landfall Tradition, which is being hosted by UNC Wilmington at the par 72, 6,1978 yard Dye Course at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
Ryu, who hails from Dublin, Ohio, teed off on No. 10 and played a flawless back nine with four birdies in her first nine holes, including consecutive birdies on No. 14 and No. 15. She finished the day with an even 72 to tie for 24th place with 18 holes to play.Â
Freshman Jenna Madden (+8) scored a 76 with a birdie on No. 6 and is tied for 72nd entering Sunday's final round, while junior Liza Lapeyre (+10) shot a 79 to finish the round tied for 77th. Freshman Eva Ringwald (+13) added a 78 on Saturday to tie for 86th, and senior Alise Knudson (+16) carded a 79 with a birdie on No. 14, tying for 90th.Â
No. 20 Duke (-14) leads the tournament by five strokes entering Sunday's final round. No. 13 North Carolina (-9) and No. 11 Florida State (-9) are tied for second. No. 18 Ole Miss (-6) is fourth, with No. 21 Michigan State (-4) completing the top five. Furman (+31) is in 15th place, ahead of Power 4 opponent Penn State (+37). South Carolina's Sophia Burnett (-9), who is playing as an individual, leads the tournament by two strokes after notching rounds of 68-67=135.
Sunday's final round of the 54-hole tournament will feature a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The Paladins will tee off on No. 12 through No. 14 and will play in a group with Illinois and Notre Dame.Â
