Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's lacrosse team opens a brief two-game conference road trip Saturday afternoon when it travels to Boiling Springs, N.C., for a 1 p.m. opening draw against the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs at Spangler Stadium.

The Paladins (3-7, 1-0 Big South) began league play on Wednesday with a 12-10 victory over Wofford at Paladin Stadium, their seventh consecutive triumph over the Terriers. Furman, who forced Wofford into 18 turnovers for the evening, finished with 19 ground balls and 12 draws.
A total of six different Paladins scored in the win led by
Anna Roser's game high four goals. Roser led Furman with six points on her four goals and two assists, and
Paige Harman contributed five points on a goal and tying her career high of four assists.
Sophie Shaw won four draws and
Andrea Fisher tied her career best of three caused turnovers. In goal,
Lily Rathbun totaled nine saves, including seven in the first half, and a team high four ground balls.
Gardner-Webb, picked ninth in the Big South Preseason Poll, enters the weekend sporting a 0-10 overall record and 0-1 conference mark after starting its Big South schedule on Wednesday with a 13-8 defeat at Winthrop. The Runnin' Bulldogs are under the direction of first-year head coach Kathleen Mirgon Crum.
The Paladins are facing Gardner-Webb for the seventh time in program history and hold a 6-0 lead in the all-time series. Furman defeated the Runnin' Bulldogs, 22-16, last season in Greenville.
The Paladins return to action next Saturday, April 6, traveling to Presbyterian for a 12 p.m. matchup against the Blue Hose.
