GREENVILLE, S.C. – Lindsay Walch led Furman with 12 kills on Saturday afternoon as the Furman volleyball team completed its preseason schedule against the Lander Bearcats at Alley Gymnasium.
The teams played four sets in the exhibition with Furman capturing all four. The Paladins won the first set 26-24 and followed with a 25-14 win in set two. Furman closed out the exhibition with a 25-22 triumph in the third and 25-21 in the fourth.
Walch's 12 kills paced the Paladins offensively with 11 different players recording at least one kill in the contest.
Ava Augustson provided 10 kills and preseason All-SoCon selection
Mary Beth Headley added seven to go with eight kills.

Eva Wheeler, and
Quinn Morrissey combined for 52 of the team's 61 assists. Morrissey finished with a double-double after leading the team with 11 digs. Walch also led the team with five assisted blocks.
Katie Miller posted a match high 16 kills for Lander while Ryleigh Willard totaled 10. Lauren Dow compiled a double-double of 28 assists and 21 digs.
Furman concluded the match holding a 62-43 advantage in kills, 61-41 in assists, and 70-62 in digs.
The Paladins open their regular season schedule next weekend hosting Charleston Southern, UTRGV, and Charlotte in the Furman Invite. Furman is slated to play Charleston Southern and UTRGV on August 30, and Charlotte on August 31.
