Paladins Host Charleston Southern In Home Opener Next Saturday

OXFORD, MISS. – Jaxson Dart completed 22-of-27 passes for 418 yards and five touchdowns — all in the first half — to power consensus sixth-ranked Ole Miss to a 76-0 victory over Furman in football action Saturday evening at Vaught Hemingway Stadium.

Dart, a senior, opened the scoring with a 15-yard run on the game's initial possession, and added to it with his first of five first half scoring connections — a 61-yard hook-up with Antwane Wells.  His last two touchdown strikes covered 61 and 22 yards to Trey Harris, with the final tally coming with 1:34 remaining to send the Rebels into halftime with a 52-0 lead.

The Rebels tacked on 24 second half points and finished with 772 yards in total offense in the contest, passing for 529 and rushing for 243.

Furman managed 172 total yards, including just 26 yards rushing.

The Paladins play host to Charleston Southern next Saturday in a 6:00 p.m. game.
