GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman volleyball team concludes the non-conference portion of its schedule this weekend facing the Kennesaw State Owls and Clemson Tigers.
The Paladins travel to Clemson, S.C., on Friday afternoon to take on Kennesaw State at 2 p.m. from Clemson's Jervey Gym. Furman then returns to Alley Gymnasium on Saturday to host Clemson at 2 p.m.
Fans can follow the action on www.furmanpaladins.com via live stats. Saturday's match versus Clemson is being streamed via paid subscription on ESPN+. Updates will also be posted on the Furman volleyball Twitter page (@FurmanVB).
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for Saturday's match against Clemson, which is expected to be at capacity. Seats will be available only on a first-come, first-serve basis, and Alley Gymnasium will not be allowed to exceed capacity for the event.
Furman (5-4) is coming off a 3-1 victory over Presbyterian on Wednesday evening. The Blue Hose jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead after securing the first set before the Paladins answered back to win the final three to collect their 13
th consecutive victory over Presbyterian. Furman concluded the match hitting .245 overall and held a 55-53 advantage in kills and 53-44 in assists. The Paladins also led in blocks, 8.0-7.0.
Chandler Parker's 11 kills led Furman offensively while
Genevieve Perry contributed 10 and six blocks.
Ava Augustson,
Izzy Castelloe, and
Mary Beth Headley all finished with nine kills. Augustson led the team with 16 digs while
Kennedy Seekford added 14 and Headley 10.
Eva Wheeler set a new career high with 29 assists and tallied eight digs.
Quinn Morrissey provided 16 assists and five digs.
Clemson currently sits at 6-2 on the season and Kennesaw State is 3-6 overall. The Paladins trail in the all-time series to both the Tigers, 33-5, and Owls, 3-0.
Furman opens the Southern Conference portion of its schedule next weekend, September 27-28, traveling to East Tennessee State and UNC Greensboro.
