GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman volleyball team hits the road this weekend for a pair of Southern Conference matches when it travels to face The Citadel Bulldogs and Mercer Bears.
The Paladins travel to Charleston, S.C., on Friday afternoon for a 4 p.m. first serve against The Citadel. Furman then turns around the next day with a 6 p.m. contest at Mercer.

The Paladins (16-6, 7-3 SoCon) are currently on a three-match winning streak following back-to-back wins last week over Samford and UNC Greensboro. Furman traveled to Samford on October 23 and swept the Bulldogs in three sets, picking up its first 3-0 victory in Birmingham, Ala., since 2017. The Paladins came back to Alley Gymnasium two days later and defeated UNC Greensboro, 3-1.
Furman hit over .400 in a match for the first time in 10 years during its road win at Samford, finishing with a .432 clip.
Ashley Stein had a team high 11 kills on .476 hitting and led a string of five players who registered seven or more kills.
Tennyson Gorman and
Lindsay Walch both hit over .500 and compiled nine kills.
Ashtan Dodson contributed eight kills and 11 digs, and
Kacie Moore provided seven kills.
Emily Navarro and
Eva Wheeler combined for 35 assists.
Kennedy Seekford finished with a match high 22 digs and dished out five assists.
The Paladins held a 47-33 advantage in kills, 41-30 in assists, and 50-32 in digs. Furman also compiled eight blocks led by Gorman's five.
In the win over UNCG, Gorman finished with a match high 14 kills and Dodson and
Quinn Morrissey both recorded double-doubles. Gorman hit .435 to pace the Paladin offense.
Izzy Castelloe recorded 13 kills on .591 hitting and Dodson registered her first career double-double on a career high 12 kills and 11 digs. Morrissey posted her third double-double of the year with 24 assists and 10 digs. Wheeler dished out 20 assists. Stein led the team with 15 digs and Seekford added 14.
Furman concluded the contest hitting .293 as a team and led 58-35 in kills, 53-33 in assists, and 61-50 in digs. The Paladins totaled eight blocks led by Gorman's six.
The Citadel currently sits at 0-20 overall and 0-10 in the SoCon, while Mercer is 6-17 on the year and 2-8 against league opponents. The Paladins lead the all-time series over The Citadel, 43-10, and 23-15 versus Mercer.
Furman plays its final home matches of the season next week, November 6-8, hosting Wofford and East Tennessee State at Alley Gymnasium.
