Dunham Named SoCon Player Of The Week, Honorable Mention Top Drawer Team Of The Week

Freshman Netted Three Goals Last Week

Greenville, S.C. – Furman center back Braden Dunham has been named Southern Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and received honorable mention Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week honors, it was announced on Tuesday.

Dunham, a native of Peachtree City, Ga., tallied two goals and added an assist in last Tuesday's 6-1 victory over USC Upstate before netting the equalizing goal in the second half of Saturday night's 1-1 draw at Mercer in the SoCon opener. The freshman's perfectly placed throw in was headed into net by Connor Dunnigan to open the scoring in the first half versus Upstate prior to the first two goals of his career later in the match. With Furman trailing in the 78th minute on Saturday, Dunham got on the end of a Connor Stout set piece to score the tying goal and earn the Paladins a point on the road against the Bears.

A starter in all 11 games this season, Dunham has helped lead the Paladins to four shutouts this season in addition to his three goals and one assist.

Furman (6-1-4, 0-0-1 SoCon), ranked No. 16 by Top Drawer Soccer and No. 25 by College Soccer News, hosts Presbyterian tonight at Stone Soccer Stadium. Admission is free and kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
