Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team is back on the road Wednesday night for a Southern Conference matchup versus the Samford Bulldogs at the Pete Hanna Center.
Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Furman sports a 19-8 overall record and 7-7 league mark entering Wednesday's road test while the Bulldogs come into the second meeting of the season between the schools at 20-7 overall and 10-4 in conference play. The Paladins dropped a 58-50 verdict against first-place UNC Greensboro at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Saturday afternoon. UNCG held Furman to a season-low 26.8% shooting, seven assists, and 50 points to complete the regular season sweep of the Paladins.
Samford stopped a two-game skid by rallying to claim a 76-68 victory at Wofford on Saturday. Trey Fort led the Bulldogs with 36 points.
Wednesday's game marks the 40
th meeting between the Paladins and Bulldogs with Furman holding a 27-12 series edge. Furman held off a late charge from the Bulldogs to claim a 72-70 victory in the first meeting of the year on January 29 in Greenville, S.C.
Nick Anderson paced the Paladins with 24 points and
PJay Smith Jr. poured in 21.
