GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The 40th-ranked Furman women's tennis team will visit Belmont and Austin Peay State this week during the team's spring break trip to Tennessee. The Paladins will square off against Belmont Monday at 2 p.m. in Nashville then play at Austin Peay State on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Clarksville.

The Paladins improved to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in SoCon play with victories over Western Carolina and UNC Greensboro this week. Furman downed the Catamounts, 5-2, in Greenville on Tuesday, then swept the Spartans, 7-0, on Thursday in Greenville.
Furman seniors Sara Snyder and Ellie Schulson rank 58th nationally in doubles. The Furman duo boasts an 11-2 record, including an 8-2 mark in spring dual matches at flight one. Earlier in the season, Snyder and Schulson teamed up for a 6-0 victory over Alabama and a 6-3 win at Wake Forest.
Senior Jess Dawson and sophomore Macy Hitchcock are ranked 64th nationally with a 9-3 overall record and a 7-2 spring dual mark. Dawson and Hitchcock also defeated Alabama, 6-3, and Wake Forest, 6-3, in early season matches.
Belmont is 1-7 after losing, 4-3, at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. The Bruins opened the season with a 5-2 victory over Tennessee State but have gone to 4-3 in their most recent two matches against EKU and Southeast Missouri. Monday's match marks the first meeting between the two programs.
Austin Peay State holds a 3-6 record after blanking Southern Indiana, 7-0, on Saturday. The Governors beat Western Kentucky, 4-3, and Belmont, 7-0, in February. Tuesday's match will be the first meeting between Furman and Austin Peay State.
