GREENVILLE, S.C. – Anna Roser was one of four Paladins to have three or more goals Wednesday evening to lead Furman to an 18-12 victory over the Detroit Mercy Titans in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Paladin Stadium.

Furman improves to 5-0 and has tied the program's best start in program history, joining the 2015 squad that also began the year with five straight victories. With the loss, Detroit Mercy drops to 2-3 overall.

Roser, the reigning Big South Offensive Player of the Week, led all players with a game high seven points on her six goals and one assist. Paige Harman added six points on four goals and two assists while Lily Toole contributed five points on three goals and two assists. Sofija Buzelis, who also set a new career high with 10 draws, had four points on three goals and an assist. Three different players picked up two ground balls and Andrea Fisher caused a team best two turnovers.

In goal, Madigan Brewer collected her fourth consecutive win after finishing with five saves.

Libby Cuckler paced the Titan offense with six points on four goals and two assists. Maddy Camm dished out four assists. Goalie Meredith Leavell made four saves.

Roser netted four of her six goals in the first half as the Paladins built a 6-2 lead with 9:40 remaining in the second quarter. Detroit Mercy answered with back-to-back goals before Furman ended the half on a 3-1 run to hold a 9-5 advantage at intermission.

The Paladins began the second half with another 3-1 run and led 12-6 at the 8:05 mark of the third quarter courtesy of Toole's second goal of the contest. Following a pair of goals from the Titans, Furman responded by scoring five of the next seven capped by Harman's goal with 8:07 left in the game to increase its lead to 17-10.

Nadine Galiano's second goal of the season secured the Paladins' 18-12 victory and fourth in the all-time series over Detroit Mercy.
