WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. -- After Tuesday's second round, Furman (+24) and Audrey Ryu (-2) continue to lead the 2025 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship at the par-72, 6,098 yard Solina Golf Club in West Columbia, S.C.
Ryu, a sophomore from Dublin, Ohio, birdied No. 6 and No. 8 to turn at 1-under. She finished the round with a 76 and holds a four-stroke advantage over Mercer's Mikayla Dubnik (+2) with 18 holes to play. Â
Four Paladins rank among the top 16, including senior Alise Knudson (+9) who posted a team-high three birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 15 and No. 16, to card a 78 and tie for 13th. Freshmen Eva Ringwald (+10) and Jenna Madden (+10) are tied for 16th entering Wednesday's final round. Ringwald paced the Paladins with a 73 on Tuesday after notching birdies on No. 5 and No. 17, while Madden, who also posted three birdies, carded a 78. Sophomore Kelsi Mauzy (+12) is tied for 30th after scoring an 84 in round two.Â
Furman, which is seeking its 21st SoCon title, extended its lead to nine strokes on Tuesday. Chattanooga (+33) sits in second, while Mercer (+3) is third. UNCG (+41) ranks fourth, and East Tennessee State (+43) completes the top five.Â
The 54-hole tournament concludes on Wednesday with teams teeing off of No. 1 and No. 10 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Furman will tee off on No. 1 beginning at 9:20 a.m. and will play in a group with Chattanooga and Mercer.
The winner of the SoCon Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, while the individual champion will also earn automatic regional qualification. The NCAA field will be announced live on the Golf Channel on Wed., April 23, at 1 p.m.
