Diego Hernandez earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.
The Mesquite, Texas, native scored a pair of first half goals to power Furman to a 3-2 victory over former Southern Conference rivals Davidson in its lone match last week. The victory improved the Paladins, ranked ninth in the latest Top Drawer Soccer Top 25, to 3-0-2 on the season.
Furman returns to action tonight when it travels to Blacksburg, Va., to take on fifth-ranked and unbeaten Virginia Tech. Tonight's match is set for a 5 p.m. kickoff at Thompson Field and will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra. Links for the live statistics and live stream are available at FurmanPaladins.com.
Tuesday's clash marks the first of two top 10 match-up this week for the Paladins who travel to face eighth-ranked and unbeaten Gardner-Webb on Friday night in Boiling Springs, N.C.
