Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team will honor players and staff from the last seven decades of Paladin basketball when it hosts the VMI Keydets for Legends Weekend Saturday afternoon at Timmons Arena.

Tip-off for Saturday's Southern Conference contest, which is sponsored by The Children's Museum of the Upstate, is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to
Dan Scott and Tom Van Hoy call the action on The Fan Upstate at 97.7 FM and 1330 AM in Greenville, 97.1 FM and 1490 AM in Spartanburg, and via the Audacy app. Links for the broadcast, live audio, and live statistics are available at FurmanPaladins.com.

Furman's Ticketmaster page. Fans will want to be in their seats early as Furman will honor members of the Furman basketball family beginning at 1:45 p.m. Players from the class of 1961 through the class of 2019 are scheduled to attend. Furman will also honor its swimming and diving team alumni at halftime of Saturday's game. The swimming and diving teams competed at Furman from 1973-90.Â

The Children's Museum of the Upstate Teddy Bear Toss will also be held at halftime. Everyone attending Saturday's game is encouraged to bring a teddy bear to toss on the floor at halftime to brighten a child's day and support The Children's Museum of the Upstate's initiatives for children and families in the community.

Furman returns to Timmons Arena at 11-5 overall and 2-1 in the SoCon after claiming a 78-67 victory at Chattanooga on Wednesday evening. The victory, Furman's 10
th in its last 12 outings, marked the program's 77
th true road win in the last 11 seasons. The Paladins' 77 wins on the opponent's home court over the last 11 years is tied for fourth most in NCAA Division I.

After trailing the Mocs early in the first half, Furman ended the opening 20 minutes on a 15-0 run to take a 39-30 halftime lead and never trailed again. Seniors
Charles Johnston and
Tom House posted season highs with 21 and 17 points, respectively, while freshman
Cole Bowser, playing in his first collegiate game, pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Guard
Alex Wilkins, who leads Furman averaging 16.9 points and 5.1 assists per game, is one of just two NCAA Division I players to rank among the top 10 freshman in scoring and assists. Redshirt-sophomore
Asa Thomas is averaging 13.7 points per game and shooting 39.8% from three-point range while Johnston has contributed 10.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest.

Saturday's SoCon clash marks the 111
th meeting between Furman and VMI (6-10, 1-2 SoCon) with the Paladins holding a 72-38 series lead. Last season, VMI overcame double-doubles from Johnston and
Ben Vander Wal to claim a 91-82 decision in Lexington, Va., before the Paladins captured a 75-71 victory over the Keydets at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
