GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's Jenna Madden has been named the Southern Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for all competitions held Oct. 21-27, the league office announced Wednesday.

A junior from McKinney, Texas, Madden tied for ninth this week at the French Broad Collegiate Invitational at the Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Arden, N.C.  After posting a 74 with birdies on No. 7 and No. 11 in the opening round, she eagled the par-5 No. 15 and added a birdie on No. 2 to pace the Paladins with a 73 in round two.  In Tuesday's final round, Madden again led Furman, carding a 76 with a team-high three birdies to finish the tournament at 10-over.

The Paladins placed fifth in the 11-team field, which included three ranked Big Ten teams.

Furman will open the 2027 spring season with match play versus Georgia Southern in Belleair, Fla., Jan. 18.
