Furman enters postseason play at 7-3-6 on the season. The Paladins scored a 4-1 victory over Wofford in the regular season finale on Halloween night to capture a share of its 23^rd SoCon regular season title and secure the No. 1 seed. Junior Wilfer Bustamante, the SoCon Player of the Year, has led Furman's attack with a league-high 11 goals this season. He was joined in earning all-league honors by midfielders Luke Hutzell and Diego Hernandez, defenders, Braden Dunham, Connor Stout, and Ryan Wagner, and goalkeeper Aaron Salinas.

While Furman received a bye to the semifinals as the No. 1 seed, Liberty reached Sunday's match by advancing past No. 4 ETSU on penalty kicks Thursday afternoon in Johnson City, Tenn. The Flames (6-7-3) and Bucs battled to a 2-2 draw before Liberty prevailed, 3-1, in the penalty shootout.

Furman holds a 2-1 lead in the all-time series versus Liberty, but the Flame claimed a 1-0 victory over the Paladins in the regular season meeting between the schools on September 26 in Lynchburg, Va. Jayden Ramos scored in the 81^stminute to help Liberty hand Furman its only SoCon loss of the season.

The winner of Sunday night's match will advance to face the winner of UNCG-Wofford in the SoCon finals next weekend. If Furman prevails, they will host the championship match at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, at Stone Stadium.
