GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman women's lacrosse team plays its first home contest of the 2026 season Friday entertaining the Austin Peay Governors at 6 p.m. inside Paladin Stadium.

The Paladins (0-1) began their season on February 10 dropping an 18-1 decision on the road to eighth-ranked Clemson.
Lily Toole scored once for Furman while
Zoe Milmoe,
Shae Insinga, and
Sailor Henderson each picked up two ground balls. Insinga and
Caroline Smith both won one draw, and
Rachel Sbei and
Skylar Hilmer caused one turnover. In goal, Henderson totaled eight saves.
The Paladins concluded the game with 11 ground balls and eight shots.
Austin Peay started its season on February 7 with a 15-14 home victory over Gardner-Webb in its inaugural game. The Governors were picked ninth in the ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll. Samantha Houttekier and Lauryn Warfield both scored four goals in the win against Gardner-Webb, while Sophia Schwab added three assists. Goalie Erin-Kate Roeder totaled four saves. Austin Peay is under the direction of first-year head coach Melissa Rausch.
Furman is facing the Governors for the first time in program history.
The Paladins return to the road next Wednesday, February 25, traveling to Queens (N.C.) for a 6 p.m. opening draw against the Royals in Charlotte, N.C.
