GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman women's lacrosse team hits the road on Saturday afternoon traveling to Rock Hill, S.C., for a 1 p.m. Big South Conference matchup against the Winthrop Eagles at Eagle Field.

The Paladins (7-8, 3-3 Big South) closed out their regular season home schedule last Saturday with a 17-12 defeat to High Point at Paladin Stadium. Furman held a 31-29 advantage in shots and 13-12 in ground balls. The Paladins registered 14 draws and nine caused turnovers while forcing the Panthers into 15 turnovers.
Allie Kandel came off the bench to lead Furman offensively with four points on three goals and an assist.
Shae Insinga provided three points on two goals and an assist while
Lily Toole scored three times.
Cate Noone won a career high six draws.
Grace Gibson tied her season best of three ground balls and
Zoe Milmoe matched her career high of four caused turnovers. The Paladins played all three of their goalies with
Madigan Brewer finishing with three saves.
Winthrop currently sits at 6-8 overall and 1-5 in the Big South and is coming off a 19-3 defeat at league-leading Mercer last Saturday. The Eagles are under the direction of second-year head coach Hannah Potter.
Furman and Winthrop are meeting for the eighth time in program history with the Paladins owning a 6-1 advantage in the all-time series. Furman has won each of the past six meetings including a 22-9 victory last season at Paladin Stadium.
The Paladins conclude the regular season next Saturday, April 25, traveling to Boiling Springs, N.C., to face Gardner-Webb at 1 p.m.
