Chattanooga, Tenn. – The opening day of the Southern Conference Softball Championship, scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed due to persistent rain, it was announced this morning by the league office.
 
Furman, scheduled to play the opening game of the tournament on Wednesday morning versus the host Chattanooga Mocs, will now begin play on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Frost Stadium. The winner of the single elimination matchup will advance to face No. 4 seed Wofford in the double elimination portion of the tournament at 4 p.m.

Thursday's Schedule
Game 1: No. 5 Chattanooga vs. No. 8 Furman, 10 a.m.
Game 2: No. 6 ETSU vs. No. 7 Mercer, 1 p.m.
Game 3: No. 4 Wofford vs. Game 1 winner, 4 p.m.
Game 4: No. 3 Western Carolina vs. Game 2 winner, 7 p.m.
