GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman head football coach Clay Hendrix has announced the election of Chris Luna and Raleigh Herbert as the Paladins' 2026 team captains.
 
Luna, a redshirt junior center, and Herbert, a redshirt junior inside linebacker, were selected by vote of their teammates.
 
A preseason All-SoCon selection, Luna started at center in all 12 games and logged 817 play participations last year.  The 6-foot-3, 290-pound Wesley Chapel, Fla., product owns 19 career starts.
 
Herbert, a 6-foot-2, 227-pound Cumming, Ga., native, who also garnered preseason All-SoCon recognition, owns 17 career starts.  He tallied 72 tackles a year ago and keyed a 31-13 road win over Samford with a late second quarter 46-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Furman kicks off its 2026 season on Thursday, August 27, when it entertains Anderson in a 7:00 p.m. contest at Paladin Stadium.
