GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman cross country teams will compete Friday at both the 47th annual Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course on Chicago's north side and at the Tryon Western NC XC Showcase at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, N.C.

At Loyola, Furman will run in the Tom Cooney Championship Women's 6K at 10 a.m. ET and men's 8K at 10:40 a.m. ET against host Loyola, Arizona, Cal Poly, Gonzaga, Lipscomb, Miami (OH), Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio, Purdue, Oregon State, Tulane, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.  Three ranked teams will compete on the women's side and five on the men's side. 

The lineup for the Furman women includes Tessa Walter, Georgy Helmers, Zoie Lamanna, Nysa Males, Rory Sullivan, Celia Schulte, Olivia Ferraro, and Ely Velasquez.  For the men, the Paladins will race Chris Knight, Owen Shifflett, Michael Ferguson, Evan Spreitzer, Ty Jones, Ryan Smith, Trevor Coggin, and Zach Youngblood.

Held at the same site as the 2026 Southern Conference championships, the Tryon meet gives the Paladins an opportunity to preview the cross country course at the Tryon Equestrian Center facility.  The women's 5K will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the men's 8K at 6:40 p.m.

The Paladin lineup will consist of Colin Eckerman, Lucas Tanner, Connor Demmerle, Ben Winn, Chappel Martin, Brayden Seymour, Colton Kempney, and Michael McKnew for the men.  On the women's side, Furman will race Calysta Garmer, Jazzlyn Garmer, Bridget Dunn, Joiner Evans, Kate Bannigan, Delaney Vickers, and Katie Hetzel.

Results of the meet will be available on the Furman website at the conclusion of the meet. 

Both Paladin teams won the Furman Invitational on Sept. 12.  Furman is looking to continue its dominance in the SoCon after winning 13-straight league titles on both the men's and women's side.
