Former Furman standout and All-Southern Conference performer Jordan Lyons joined the men's basketball staff as Video and Analytics Coordinator during the summer of 2022.
 
A native of Peachtree City, Ga., Lyons guided the Paladins to a 96-37 overall record and 55-17 Southern Conference mark during his four-year playing career in Greenville. In 132 career games, he averaged 11.6 points per game and drained 288 career three-point baskets, which ranks second in Paladin history. Lyons connected on an NCAA-record 15 three-point baskets and tallied 54 points, the most by a Furman player in more than 60 years, in a victory over North Greenville in November of 2018. His 1,529 career points rank 15^th in Furman history. 
 
"One thing we all know about Jordan Lyons is he bleeds purple," said Paladin head coach Bob Richey. "The second winningest player in school history and a Furman graduate with professional playing experience coming back to join our staff is a home run. From the day we started recruiting Jordan, he made it clear that his passion was to start coaching once his playing days were over. Jordan exudes passion and to have his impact on our players day in and day out is something I'm excited about. I cannot wait to watch the impact he is going to continue to have on our players and ultimately our program moving forward. He has a bright future ahead of him."
 
Lyons, whose 96 career victories trail only former teammate Alex Hunter's 98 wins on Furman's career list of winningest players, averaged a team-leading 16.4 points per game as a senior to pace the Paladins to a 25-7 overall record and a second-place finish in the Southern Conference standings. The 2020 Lou Henson Mid-Major All-America selection and NABC All-District 21 choice was a first team All-SoCon pick in 2020 and a third team selection in 2019. He was twice selected to the All-SoCon Tournament squad.
 
"I'm incredibly excited to be starting my coaching career at my alma mater," said Lyons. "It truly is special to be back at home at a university and program I am so passionate about and care so deeply about. I'm looking forward to serving this program in any way I can, and I'm filled with gratitude towards Coach Richey for the opportunity."
 
Lyons helped the Paladins to a 76-68 victory at defending national champion Villanova during the 2018-19 campaign and back-to-back wins over 2018 NCAA Final Four participant Loyola Chicago during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons. He played professionally with BK Ogre in the Estonian/Latvian Basketball League in 2020 before playing for Prizreni in the Kosovo Superliga.
