Aaron Vail

Aaron Vail joined the Furman staff in the summer of 2019 and Furman improve its RPI by 23 spots in his first season on the Paladins staff.

During 2020, the Paladins swiped more bases in 26 games than the team stole the previous season in 51 contests. Furman improved its team ERA from 5.89 in 2019 to 4.03 in 2020, despite boasting a tougher strength of schedule. The 2020 season also featured wins over top 70 RPI teams Jacksonville and UAB.

Vail served as director of softball operations at American Athletics Softball Organization in Irvine Calif., in 2018-19 after holding the same position for USA Preps in Camarillo, Calif., the previous year. He worked as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Oregon State in 2015-16 following a stint at Utah Valley from 2013-14.
 
Prior to joining the UVU staff, Vail spent time as a head coach at the high school and travel ball levels, while also leading the program at Dakota County Technical College in 2010. During his playing career, Vail appeared in 24 ISC World Tournaments, NAFA Men's World Series, AAU Men's International Championships and ASA/USA Softball National Tournaments overs a 16-year career. An ASA Class A All-American infielder in 2015 and ISC 23 & Under All-World choice in 2007, Vail earned two silver medals at the ISC U-23 World Championships and two at the NAFA 23 & Under World Series.
