Appeared in all 29 matches (7 starts) for the paladins…tallied a season-high 17 digs in Furman’s win over Western Carolina…recorded her only career kill vs. Winthrop…turned in a career-high 2 aces vs. Chattanooga…reached double-digit digs three times on the season…named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll and SoCon Academic All-Conference Team.

Sophomore Year (2012)

Appeared in 12 matches (four starts) for the Paladins…notched a career-high four assists in Furman’s 3-0 win at Winthrop on October 23…shattered her career-high by recording 20 digs against Wofford on October 26…twice recorded double-digit digs (October 23; October 26)…a member of the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll. 

Freshman Year (2011)

Appeared in four matches for the Paladins…notched a career-high six digs in Furman’s 3-1 win at Western Carolina on October 16…recorded one assist and four digs in the Paladins’ 3-0 defeat of UNC Greensboro on October 21...a member of the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

High School

Honored as the Carolinas Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year her senior season after helping Shannon Forest Christian to a second-place finish in the state playoffs...led the team to a state championship her junior year...a three-time All-CAA selection and two-time NCISAA All-State honoree...set the Shannon Forest Christian record for career digs with 1,235 after playing only two seasons at defensive specialist...also earned all-state honors for basketball and soccer...established school records with 1,141 career points (basketball) and 74 career goals (soccer)....earned a Wendy’s High School Heisman State award her senior year...a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal

Kaitlin Callis Harrell was born on September 3, 1993, in Greenville, S.C....daugher of Jim and Rita Harrell...father also attended Furman...mother played basketball at Slippery Rock University, where she is a member of the school’s hall of fame...mother was also a member of the 1976 All-World softball team and was inducted into the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame...majoring in elementary education.
