#69 Furman Shuts Out UNC Greensboro 7-0

Greensboro, NC - The 69th ranked Furman men's tennis team shut out UNC Greensboro 7-0 Saturday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts. With the win the Paladins improved to 13-9 on the year, 4-0 in the Southern Conference, with the Spartans falling to 2-16, 0-7 in conference play.

Furman jumped out to the early 1-0 lead with wins in all three double matches. In singles action the Paladins won all six matches to secure the shut out on the day. In flight one Ben Pauluhn shook off a first set loss to defeat Marc Ladouceur 1-6, 6-4, 10-4 while Andy Juc won his flight two match 6-3, 6-0 over Martin Redelinghuvs. Playing at No.3 Greg Maarschalk downed Ian Conchar 7-5, 6-0 and at No.4 Bo Ladyman battled for a 6-2, 6-7(4), 10-8 victory over Austin Wilty. In flight five Daniel Knause ousted Ryan Lewis 6-3, 6-3 and in the final match at No.6 Chris Gilli hit his way to a 6-4, 6-0 win over Jason Steinhorn.

Furman returns to action on Sunday with a 12:30 match against Elon in Elon, NC.
