Paladins Place 14th At Cleveland Palmetto Intercollegiate

Aiken, S.C. – Furman (306-286-308=900) fired a final round 308 to finish in a tie for 14th place on Tuesday at the 14th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate at the par-70 Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C.

Matt Brown (76-70-74=220) led the way for Furman carding a final round four-over 74 to gain a share of 24th place while Matt Broome (77-70-77=224) carded a seven-over 77 to place 42nd.

Alabama's Bud Cauley (66-66-69=201) led the Crimson Tide to the tournament title and garnered individual medalist honors shooting a 69 on Tuesday to finish with a tournament record nine-under 201 over 54 holes.  The Crimson Tide (288-277-284=849) claimed an 11-stroke victory over second place Virginia with Liberty, Chattanooga and East Carolina rounding out the top five in the 18-team field.

Cauley (-9) finished five strokes ahead of second place Harold Varner (71-67-68=206) of East Carolina.

The Paladins return home to host the Furman Intercollegiate March 18-20, at the Furman University Golf Club.
