ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The Furman men's tennis team concluded the 2015 fall season this weekend at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C. 

Sophomore Josh Pistorius defeated Ollie Casey of Appalachian State, 6-1, 6-1, in the opening round of the Winthrop Singles Draw, while freshman Alex Steryous and sophomore Stefan Rhodes each picked up two consolation singles wins in the Eagle Singles Draw.  Steryous beat Lochlan Kitchen of Bluefield, 7-5, 6-1, then recorded a 6-4, 6-4, win versus Davidson's Zach Zapatero.  Rhodes downed Gardner-Webb's Jonathan Walker, 6-1, 6-7, 10-5, then bested Julian Farthing of Longwood, 6-2, 6-3.

The Paladins will open the 2016 spring season on January 16 at Vanderbilt.  First serve is set for 1 p.m.
