Women's Lacrosse Heads to California for Spring Break Road Tests

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's lacrosse team hits the road for spring break, traveling to Fresno, Calif., to take on UC Davis and Fresno State on Sunday and Monday. The Paladins (2-2) then head to San Diego, Calif., for a Thursday clash at San Diego State. 

Sunday's match-up versus UC Davis has an opening draw set for 4:00 p.m., while Monday's game at Fresno State is set for 8:00 p.m. and Thursday's is set for 3:00 p.m.

Winners of two in a row, the Paladins head to the West Coast having out-scored their last two opponents 33-14. Devon Horine leads Furman in scoring with 10 goals on the year, while Meg Lingo has added eight. Both Courtney Baker and Maggie Friel have split time in goal for the Paladins, combining for 29 saves.

UC Davis comes in to Sunday's game at 1-1 on the season. The Aggies are led by Ellie Delich and Taylor Cuenin with four goals each, while Mary Doyle leads the team in assists with four. Lauren Ali has played all 120 minutes in goal for UC Davis this season, making 17 saves on the year.

Fresno State is coming off of two games in the Carolinas and comes in to the weekend at 2-3 on the year. The Bulldogs downed Presbyterian College 14-10 last week, before falling at Campbell 13-11. Nicole Ortlieb lead the Bulldogs with 13 goals on the season, while Kyleigh Westgarth is the only other player with double-digit points (10).
